Borsa Istanbul opens Monday above 4,900 points

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at a record-high 4,906.4 points on Monday, up 0.66%, or 32.06 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.33% to hit an all-time closing peak of 4,874.34 points on Friday, with a daily trading volume of 111 billion Turkish liras ($5.96 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6265 as of 10.01 a.m. local time (0701 GMT), the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 19.3165, and a British pound traded for 22.4743 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.52 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,751.50.
