BIST 100 index rises slightly 0.11 pct compared to Monday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.11 percent or 116.65 points to open at 101,845.16 points on Tuesday.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped by 0.96 percent to close the day at 101,728.51 points with a daily trading volume of 6.86 billion Turkish liras ($1.3 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.3090 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Monday's closing rate of 5.3030.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also stood at 6.0010, versus 6.0080 at the last close.

One British pound traded for 6.8650 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.8560 at market close on Monday.

The price of Brent oil was around $66.50 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Tuesday.
