Borsa Istanbul stocks up at open

BIST 100 index rises 0.15 pct versus Thursday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.15 percent or 159.92 points to open at 104,689.85 points on Friday.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 0.37 percent to close the day at 104,529.93 points with a daily trading volume of 7.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.3460 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 5.3230 at Thursday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.0830, versus 6.0720 at the last close.

One British pound traded for 7.1050 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.0670 at market close on Thursday.

The price of Brent oil was around $67.03 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Friday.
