Borsa Istanbul up at Friday open

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,332.87 points on Friday, rising by 0.15% or 2.02 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 1,330.85 points on Thursday, with a daily trading volume of nearly 30 billion Turkish liras ($3.8 billion)

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.8320 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.7780.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.5210 from 9.4580, while one British pound traded for 10.5680 Turkish liras, rising from 10.5050 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $49.51 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
