Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the day at 3,303.54 points on Friday, up 0.25%, or 8.27 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.53% at Thursday's close of 3,295.27 points, with a daily trading volume of 61.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 18.3970 as of 10.04 a.m. local time (0704GMT), from 18.3640 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.0005 from 18.0300, while a British pound traded for 20.6070 Turkish liras, down from 20.7390.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $89.75 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,677.85.
