BIST 100 index earns around 2 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,394.72 points on Tuesday, up 0.15% or 2.08 points from the previous close.

At Monday’s close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.16% at 1,392.64 points, with a daily trading volume of 12 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 8.6400 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, versus 8.6680 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.2800 from 10.2840, while one British pound traded for 12.0100 Turkish liras, down slightly from 12.0280.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for $77.40 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
