Borsa Istanbul up at opening session

BIST-100 index up slightly at opening of daily session Tuesday, June 21, 2016

ISTANBUL (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index was up 0.5 percent at the opening of the daily session Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

The benchmark index increased slightly by 36.27 points to open at 77,559.18 after recovering strongly, up 2.8 percent, on Monday

Asian stocks jumped on Tuesday as the latest opinion polls in the U.K. suggested the country was more likely to stay in the EU than leave.

Global equity markets have recovered much of the ground lost last week.

European markets on Tuesday are expected to open rather mixed.

Voters across the U.K. go to the polls to decide on the future of their country’s EU membership on Thursday.
