Borsa Istanbul up at Thursday open

BIST 100 index increases 9.20 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,334.67 points on Thursday, rising 0.69% or 9.20 points from the previous close.

At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose by 0.34% to 1,325.47 points, with a daily trading volume of 30.98 billion Turkish liras ($3.89 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.9550 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.9860 on Wednesday.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also declined to 9.5020 from 9.5050, while one British pound traded for 10.6610 Turkish liras, down from 10.6950.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $48.60 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
