Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,334.22 points on Tuesday, rising 0.33% or 4.33 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 0.07% to close at 1,329.90 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of 28.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 7.8320 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8440.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was also down to 9.4920 from 9.5220, while one British pound traded for 10.4920 Turkish liras, up from 10.4770 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $48.20 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
