Borsa Istanbul up at Wednesday's open

BIST 100 index gains 5.23 points

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,514.14 points on Wednesday, up 0.21% or 5.23 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 0.05% to close at 2,508.91 points on Tuesday, with a daily trading volume of 33.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 17.2627 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT) for a daily loss of 0.10%.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 18.0740 with a 0.40% daily rise, while a British pound traded for 20.7761 Turkish liras – up 0.22%.

The price of Brent crude oil was trading at $121.48 per barrel with a 0.29% rise, while the price of gold was $1,821.45 per ounce for a 0.45% gain.
