Borsa Istanbul up at weekly open

BIST 100 index earns around 3.3 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,395.16 points on Monday, up 0.24% or 3.30 points from the previous close.

At last week’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 1.34% at 1,391.86 points, with a daily trading volume of 10.49 billion Turkish liras ($1.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.7300 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, versus 8.7310 at last week’s close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 10.4100 from 10.4400, while one British pound traded for 12.1400 Turkish liras, down from 12.2400.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for $75.40 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
