Borsa Istanbul up at weekly open

BIST 100 index gains some 10.3 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,454.91 points on Monday, up 0.71% or 10.28 points from the previous close.

At the last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.33% to 1,444.63 points, with a daily trading volume of 12.1 billion Turkish liras ($1.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 8.4650 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 8.50 on Friday.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was unchanged at 9.9240, while one British pound traded for 11.5650 Turkish liras, down from 11.6090.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $65.90 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
