Car bomb kills 5 civilians in Syria’s Jarabulus
YPG/PKK terrorist group suspected to be behind attack
JARABULUS, Syria (AA) – Five civilians were killed in a car bomb explosion in Jarabulus city in northern Syria, according to local sources on Monday.
The fatalities occurred when an explosives-laden vehicle blew up on Sunday in the countryside of Ghandoura town, the sources said.
YPG/PKK terrorist group was suspected to be behind the attack.
The YPG/PKK terrorist organization often targets the cities of Jarabulus, Azaz and Afrin from its positions in the northern cities of Tal Rifaat and Manbij.
Since 2016, Türkiye has launched a trio of successful anti-terror operations across its border in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and enable the peaceful settlement of residents: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is its Syrian branch.
