No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing

BAGHDAD (AA) – At least five people were killed and 10 others injured in a car-bomb blast in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Wednesday, according to an Iraqi policeman.
A bomber blew up his vehicle packed with explosive at a military checkpoint in al-Hussaniya district, general Hamed al-Moamen told Anadolu Agency.
“Five people, including the bomber, were killed and 10 people injured in the bombing,” he said.
According to al-Moamen, Iraqi soldiers were among the casualties in the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but Iraqi officials often blame Daesh group for a recent spate of car-bomb blasts in Baghdad.
Last week, more than 290 people were killed and scores injured in a deadly car bombing in a Shia district in Baghdad, the deadliest one since 2003 invasion by the US-led forces.
The fallout of this attack included the resignation of Iraqi interior minister Mohamed al-Ghalban and the sacking of a number of top security officials.
Iraq has suffered a devastating security vacuum since mid-2014, when Daesh captured Mosul and overran large swathes of territory in the northern and western parts of the country.
