Car bomb kills several Jordan soldiers near Syria border

AMMAN (AA) - A number of Jordanian border guards were killed in a car bomb attack near border with war-torn Syria on Tuesday.

A car-bomb exploded near al-Rukban security checkpoint near border with Syria, the Jordanian army was quoted as saying by the state television.

A number of soldiers were killed and several others injured in the attack, the army said.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.

The army said its forces have launched a manhunt for the attackers and destroyed a number of their vehicles, giving no further details.
