Car bombing kills 7 in Iraqi capital

BAGHDAD (AA) - At least seven people were killed early Tuesday in a car bombing in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

A car packed with explosives blew up near a hospital in al-Karada district in central Baghdad, police officer Hassan al-Noufal told Anadolu Agency.

The attack left seven people dead and 14 others injured, according to the Baghdad operations command.

The bombing has left a vast trail of destruction in the Shia predominantly district.

No group has yet claimed responsibility, though Iraqi authorities often blame the attacks on the Daesh terrorist group, which seized vast swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.

In July, more than 200 people were killed in a massive suicide bombing claimed by Daesh in al-Karada.
