Child killed in PKK mortar attack in SE Turkey

HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - A child was killed and five other civilians were injured when mortar shells fired by PKK terrorists hit a car in southeastern Turkey’s Hakkari province Saturday, a security source said.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the restrictions on talking to the media, said the PKK had been attacking a border brigade command in the province’s Cukurca district at the time of incident.

The injured were rushed to the Cukurca State Hospital.

Security forces launched an operation in the region to nab the PKK terrorists.
