Climate activists interrupt Shell's annual meeting in London

ANKARA (AA) - Activists interrupted oil giant Shell's annual meeting in London with climate change protests, according to media reports.

The British company's shareholders were holding their annual meeting on Tuesday when a group of protesters rushed the stage where board members were sitting.

They shouted "Shut down Shell," as shown by videos on social media.

The activists accused the company of responsibility for the climate crisis and damaging the planet, media outlets reported.

Those protesters were actual shareholders who invest in the company to put pressure on it, the BBC said.

Security guards quickly carried out the protesters, the same source added.
