ISTANBUL (AA) - Argentina beat Chile 2-1 Sunday in the 2019 Copa America to take third-place honors.
Argentina took the lead in the 12th minute of football action at Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo.
Argentina doubled their lead in the 22nd minute. Paulo Dybala curved the ball to make it 2-0.
After a scuffle in the 37th minute, both Lionel Messi and Gary Medel were sent off, leaving their teams with 10 men in the field.
In the second half, Vidal's goal in the 59th minute for Chile narrowed the gap to one.
Both teams finished the match with 10 men.
Argentina defended the 2-1 lead in Brazil as they are returning home with a bronze medal.
