BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday reopened its international borders, after more than five months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Council of Ministers, or the Cabinet, announced that the borders have been conditionally opened to all citizens. A negative COVID-19 test, conducted no later than 48 hours, is mandatory to enter the country.

Earlier, all individuals arriving from abroad were subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

The Balkan nation, which imposed restrictions to curb the spread of the virus in March, started easing lockdown in April.

It has so far confirmed 22,544 virus cases, including 680 deaths and 15,273 recoveries, according to the latest figures by Johns Hopkins University.
