Coronavirus cases, deaths on rise in Eurasian countries
Armenia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia all report rises in number of cases

BAKU (AA) – Coronavirus cases and fatalities continued to rise across Eurasian countries on Friday.
- Armenia
In Armenia, 460 more people were confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, bringing the total to 8,676.
The number of recoveries reached 3,297, and the death toll hit 120.
Also, 56,042 tests were done in the country, as 4,214 are still receiving treatment.
- Ukraine
In Ukraine, the total number of cases reached 22,811, while the death toll hit 679.
The country did 10,533 tests in the last 24 hours, and a total of 8,934 people have recovered from the virus.
- Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan reported 68 new cases, bringing the country’s total to 1,662. The number of recoveries reached 1,088.
The country carried out 2,494 tests in the last 24 hours and the death toll rose to 16.
- Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, 26 more people contracted the virus, raising the tally to 3,463.
Thirteen people have died to date and 2,532 have recovered.
The country has also done 600,000 coronavirus tests so far.
The death toll stands at 14 while 755 patients are under treatment.
- Georgia
In Georgia, public transportation began to operate. Passengers should wear masks in metro, bus and minibus.
Eight new COVID-19 cases in the country raised the total to 749, including 12 deaths and 576 recoveries.
