Coronavirus situation update in 4 Arab countries

ISTANBUL (AA) - Health officials in Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia confirmed more coronavirus infections and related deaths on Thursday.

- Jordan

With 1,552 new infections and 47 deaths, the overall caseload rose to 709,817, including 8,801 virus-linked fatalities.

As many as 680,907 patients won their battle against the virus.

- Iraq

Another 41 people died in the past 24 hours, pushing the fatalities to 15,433.

With 6,926 new infections, the caseload rose to more than 1.05 million. A total of 934,935 recoveries have been recorded.

- Lebanon

As many as 25 people in Lebanon died from the virus, pushing the death toll to 7,249, the Health Ministry announced.

Another 1,336 people tested positive, with infections rising to 525,577, while the number of recoveries reached 457,758.

- Saudi Arabia

At least 11 more deaths and 1,026 new cases were recorded in Saudi Arabia, bringing the tallies to 6,946 deaths and 416,307 infections, respectively. The Kingdom has registered 399,509 recoveries.
