ISTANBUL (AA) - Regular flight operations are resuming at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen Airport after they were suspended earlier Tuesday because of an incident with a plane.

Work is underway to continue flights and reopen the runway which a plane skidded off, which resulted in no injuries.

Flights were originally scheduled to resume at 8 p.m. local time (1700GMT), but was delayed until 10 p.m. (1900GMT) as efforts continue to clear the plane from the runway.

But flights were postponed once again and scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. local time (0300GMT) Wednesday.

Turkish Airlines’ Senior Vice President for Media Relations Yahya Ustun said on Twitter that 20 additional flights are scheduled from Istanbul Airport to relieve affected passengers.

A Pegasus Airlines plane skidded off the runway at 9.43 a.m. local time (0643GMT) due to bad weather. All 164 passengers on board were safely evacuated without injury, authorities said.
