Death toll from Jordan building collapse rises to 14

AMMAN, Jordan (AA) – The death toll from a building collapse in Jordanian capital Amman has risen to 14, according to local authorities on Saturday.

"After difficult, continuous and multiple search and rescue operations that lasted over 84 hours, the search and rescue teams were able to evacuate the last body from under the rubble," Public Security Directorate spokesman, Amer Al-Sartawi, said in a statement.

He said 10 people were also injured in the collapse.

A four-story residential building collapsed in Amman on Tuesday.

The cause of the collapse remains unclear and Jordanian authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities have charged three people, including one of the owners, with multiple accounts of death and harm.
