COPENHAGEN (AA) - Denmark's Health Ministry announced Monday that it extended the limit on public gatherings from 10 to 50, a measure taken to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The country has entered to its third phase of normalization process after over a two-month lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, said the ministry.

Swimming pools, gyms, children playgrounds, and water parks reopened their doors throughout the country.

So far, 11,929 people have been infected with the virus, while 593 lost their lives since the country reported its first case late February.

A total of 10,792 people were recovered from the disease.

The pandemic has claimed nearly 410,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since originating in China last December.

Over 7.04 million cases have been reported worldwide, while more than 3.15 million people have recovered so far, according to figures compiled by the US' Johns Hopkins University.
