Deputy PM: Anadolu Agency victim of slander

Bozdag says those making accusations will be asked to give their account to judiciary

ANKARA (AA) - Anadolu Agency never manipulates election results, Deputy Premier Bekir Bozdag said on Friday.

Bozdag's remarks came after Anadolu Agency's distribution of election broadcast tests was wrongly termed as a perception operation.

"They are slandering Anadolu Agency and they will have to give an account of their defamations to the judiciary," Bozdag told reporters in central Yozgat province.

He said Anadolu Agency has never misled Turkish people about any elections or any other issue, adding that the agency carries out its responsibilities honestly.

Anadolu Agency on Thursday said it was being subjected to baseless allegations.

The agency also said legal procedures were being initiated "against persons and institutions who brought up allegations against our institution on purpose that are contrary to the truth".
