Dortmund hammer Monchengladbach 6-0 in German league

ANKARA (AA) - Marco Reus-led Borussia Dortmund thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 6-0 in a Sunday German Bundesliga match to keep their fans ecstatic.

Home team Dortmund's experienced midfielder Reus, 32, orchestrated the huge win by scoring two goals against his old club and making three assists at Signal Iduna Park.

A Monchengladbach midfielder in 2009-2012, Reus has been shaping Dortmund's offense for almost 10 years as he joined the Black and Yellows in the summer of 2012.

On Sunday against Gladbach, Dortmund waited for the opening goal for 26 minutes as team captain Reus finished in the area.

Donyell Malen went one-on-one against Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer to score the second goal in the 32nd minute.

Dortmund scored four goals in the second half.

In the 70th minute, Marius Wolf was in the box to unleash a powerful shot that beat Sommer, making it 3-0.

Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko scored the fourth goal on a counterattack in the 74th minute.

Reus appeared again as the German international had a through ball to score for Dortmund in the 82nd minute.

German midfielder Emre Can scored from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to make the result 6-0 for Dortmund.

Second-place Dortmund have 49 points in 23 matches while Borussia Monchengladbach are in 13th position with 26 points.

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich boosted their points to 55 with a 4-1 win against underdogs Greuther Furth at Allianz Arena on Sunday.

Polish star Robert Lewandowski scored twice to contribute to Bayern Munich's home win.

Greuther Furth are in last place with 13 points.
