Dozens killed in China bus accident

BEIJING (AA) – At least 36 people were killed and 13 others injured Friday when a bus crashed into the wall of a tunnel in northwest China.

The 51-person capacity passenger bus was en route from Chengdu in southwest Sichuan province to the central city of Luoyang, according to the Xinhua news agency. It crashed into the wall in the entrance of Qinling Tunnel in Shaanxi province. Victims were taken to nearby hospitals.

The public security ministry announced ab investigations has been launched into the accident, according to state broadcaster China Central Television.
