Drivers launch 2-day nationwide bus strike across country, disrupting transportation

UTRECHT, Netherlands (AA) – Bus drivers across the Netherland on Monday launched a two-day strike to demand better working conditions and salaries.
The Federation of Dutch Trade Unions triggered the nationwide strike of thousands of bus drivers.
The strike caused disrupted transportation, as it put busses out of service in most of the country.
But in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and the Hague, bus drivers were still at work as they are under different contracts.
The federation said in a statement said that a concrete deal between the employers and the employees would solve the problem.
The federation has been negotiating with employers since September to improve working conditions and salaries.
This January, thousands of bus drivers walked out for the same reason.
