Easing commodity prices spark US stock rally

ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks closed higher Wednesday as commodity prices declined significantly.

The blue chip Dow Jones industrial average gained 2%, or 653.61 points, to 33,286.25.

The S&P 500 was up 107.18 points, or 2.57%, to close at 4,277.88.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq also ended in positive territory, rising 459.99 points, or 3.59%, at 13,255.55.

European stocks also closed midweek with huge gains while Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended at 2,042.70 points, up 1.56% from its previous close.

Stocks in Asia were mixed at the close.
