Egypt FM arrives in Iraq for anti-Daesh talks

BAGHDAD (AA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday for talks with Iraqi officials.

The top diplomat is expected to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, President Fuad Masum and other senior officials during his one-day visit.

The talks will also tackle cooperation between Egypt and Iraq on the fight against the Daesh terrorist organization, a source in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media.

Iraqi forces earlier this month dislodged Daesh from Mosul, the terrorist group's last stronghold in northern Iraq.
