EU, eurozone economies expand year-on-year in Q2
EU and euro area's GDP growth rates at 0.5% and 0.6%, respectively

ISTANBUL (AA) - The EU and the euro area economies posted economic growth in the second quarter on a yearly basis, Eurostat's preliminary figures showed on Monday.
The EU economy expanded by 0.5%, while the euro area's GDP growth rate was 0.6% year-on-year in the April-June period.
On a quarterly basis, the euro area economy expanded by 0.3%, while the EU's GDP was stable.
