EuroLeague: Spanoulis heroic as Olympiacos beat Zenit

Despite being down by 17, Olympiacos fight back, led by 39-year-old Spanoulis

ANKARA (AA) - Olympiacos defeated Zenit St. Petersburg 75-61 in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague late Friday, despite being down 17 points in the second quarter.

Playing only 20 minutes, Spanoulis dropped a team-high 16 points, including two clutch three-pointers to seal the game for his team.

Zenit scored only five points in the final quarter, therefore unable to protect their 17 point-lead.

Olympiacos improved to 13 wins and 16 losses, Zenit dropped to 16 wins and 12 losses.

- Valencia beat Fenerbahce 65-52

Valencia Basket defeated Fenerbahce Beko 65-52 on Friday night for their 15th win in the regular season.

Spanish team played tough defense all match, allowing Fenerbahce score as most as 18 points in a quarter.

Sam Van Rossom was the high-scorer for Valencia with 17 points, while Jan Vesely and Nando de Colo combined for 29 of Fenerbahce's 52 points.

Valencia improved to 15 wins and 14 losses, while Fenerbahce dropped to 17 wins and 12 losses.
