European Central Bank keeps interest rates constant

ANKARA (AA) - The European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday decided to keep key interest rates unchanged.

The interest rate on the main refinancing operations was kept at 0.00%, according to a statement from the ECB's Governing Council.

The bank also did not change interest rates on the marginal lending facility or the deposit facility, standing at 0.25% and -0.50%, respectively.

The council expects the key ECB interest rates to remain at their present or lower levels until it has seen the inflation outlook robustly converge to a level sufficiently close to, but below, 2%.
