European markets close day in red

ISTANBUL (AA) - All European stock markets ended the first transaction day of the week in negative territory.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, on Monday lost 6.56 points, or 1.46%, to close at 443.83.

The UK’s FTSE 100 index was closed due to a bank holiday.

Germany’s DAX 30 was down 1.13%, or 158.81 points, to 13,939, while France’s CAC 40 lost 1.66%, or 108.16 points, to 6,425.

Italy’s FTSE MIB dropped 394.93 points, or 0.57%, to end the day at 23,857, while Spain’s IBEX 35 fell 148.2 points, or 1.73%, to close at 8,436 points.

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index was also closed on Monday due to the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday, while major stock exchanges in Asia closed mixed on Monday.
