European markets close Friday lower, post mixed weekly results

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Friday, but posted mixed weekly results, as three of them saw gains but the other three saw losses for the week.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 2.67 points, or 0.57%, to close at 462.77. It fell 0.27% this week.

London's FTSE 100 declined 6.89 points, or 0.1%, to end the day at 7,122. It rose 1.11% for the week.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 93, or 0.61%, to 15,169 points. This week, the index lost 0.57%.

France's CAC 40 was off 30 points, or 0.44%, to 6,765, but it increased 0.38% this week.

Italy's FTSE MIB 30 plummeted 66 points, or 0.26%, to end the day at 25,938. For the week, it had a gain of 0.33%.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the worst performer of the day once again based on percentage decline – shedding 59 points, or 0.71%, to close at 8,241. The index declined 1.91% this week.
