European markets close week higher

ISTANBUL (AA) – Major European markets closed the week with strong gains on Friday, between 1.7% and 3.23%.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, earned 10.53 points, or 2.62%, to end the day at 412.93.

The UK's FTSE 100 index was up 188.36, or 2.68%, to 7,208.81 points.

Germany's DAX 30 also rose 1.59%, or 205.54 points, to 13,118.13, while France's CAC 40 increased 3.23%, or 190.02 points, to 6,073.35.

Italy's FTSE MIB gained 504.2 points, or 2.33%, to stand at 22,119.20, and Spain's IBEX 35 increased 137.7 points, or 1.7%, to 8,244.10.
