European markets close with gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - Major European markets closed in positive territory on Thursday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, gained 3.4 points, or 0.78%, at 437.71.

The UK's FTSE 100 index was up 42.17, or 0.56%, to 7,564 points.

Germany's DAX 30 added 1.59%, or 223.36 points, to 14,231, while France's CAC 40 rose 1.78%, or 111.94 points, to 6,410.

Italy's FTSE MIB gained 296.05 points, rising 1.22%, to end at 24,546.

Spain's IBEX 35 also posted an increase, up 128.6 points, or 1.47%, to end the day at 8,888.

Major stock exchanges in Asia closed mixed on Thursday, while Turkiye's benchmark stock index was up 1.35% to end the day at 2,450.84 points.
