European markets end in positive territory

Indices see big jumps as commodity prices calmed

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed midweek with huge gains as commodity prices calmed.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, jumped 19.44 points, or 4.68%, to close at 434.45 points.

The UK's FTSE 100 index ended at 7,190, soaring 226.61 points, or 3.25%.

Germany's DAX 30 was up 7.92%, or 1,016.4 points, to 13,847 points.

France's CAC 40 rose 7.13%, or 424.87 points, to 6,387 points.

Italy's FTSE MIB was up sharply 1,551.3 points, or 6.94%, to end the day at 23,889 points, while Spain's IBEX 35 gained 379.7 points, or 4.88%, to 8,163 points.

Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 2,042.70 points, up 1.56% from its previous close.

Stocks in Asia were mixed at the close.
