European stock exchanges close Thursday lower

France's CAC 40 performs worst, declining 0.79%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed lower on Thursday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, fell 2.31 points, or 0.51%, to finish at 454.70.

The UK's FTSE 100 lost 57 points, or 0.76%, to end the session at 7,502.

Germany's DAX also shed 34 points, or 0.22%, to 15,988.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, declining 57 points, or 0.79%, to close at 7,203.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, decreased 199 points, or 0.72%, to 27,410.

Spain's IBEX 35 trimmed 71 points, or 0.76%, to end the day at 9,364.
