European stock exchanges close Wednesday higher

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock exchanges closed higher on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 1.67 points, or 0.36%, to finish at 464.94.

The UK's FTSE 100 added almost eight points, or 0.1%, to end the session at 7,602. France's CAC 40, meanwhile, increased 37 points, or 0.52%, to close at 7,328.

Germany's DAX rose 80 points, or 0.49%, to 16,310, while Italy's FTSE MIB jumped 243 points, or 0.88%, to 27,809.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, soaring 99 points, or 1.06%, to end the day at 9,432.
