European stock markets close Friday higher

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed with gains on Friday to end the week with a higher note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 2.16 points, or 0.56%, to end the last trading day of the week at 391.31.

The UK's FTSE 100 increased 8 points, or 0.12%, to finish the session at 6,858. Germany's DAX 30 gained 82 points, or 0.67%, to end at 12,437.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, soaring 52 points, or 0.9%, to 5,931.

Italy's FTSE MIB rose 145 points, or 0.7%, to 20,930. Spain's IBEX 35 added 33 points, or 0.46%, to close at 7,382.
