European stock markets close higher except UK

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed higher on Monday, except for in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 1.36 points, or 0.33%, to finish at 418.34.

Germany's DAX 30 rose 73 points, or 0.55%, to close at 13,533. France's CAC 40 only added 0.17 point to close at 6,416.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 210 points, or 0.9%, to 23,493.

Spain's IBEX 35 gained 19 points, or 0.25%, to reach 7,962 at the closing bell.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, lost 34 points, or 0.48%, to finish at 7,300.
