European stock markets close lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed with losses on Friday to finish the week on a lower note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.14 points, or 0.26%, to close at 440.09.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 25 points, or 0.17%, to 14,460. France's CAC 40 declined 15 points, or 0.23%, to 6,485.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, falling 259 points, or 1.06%, to end the day at 24,166.

Spain's IBEX 35 lost 19 points, or 0.22%, to close at 8,724.

The UK's FTSE was closed due to the spring bank holiday.
