European stock markets close lower except for Italy’s

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Wednesday except for Italy's stock FTSE MIB.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 1.22 points, or 0.29%, to close the third trading day of the week at 413.39.

The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 42 points, or 0.58%, to finish the session at 7,144. Germany’s DAX 30 lost 82 points, or 0.61%, to close at 13,256.

France’s CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 51 points, or 0.81%, to 6,276.

Spain’s IBEX 35 lost 30 points, or 0.38%, to finish the day at 7,968.

Italy’s FTSE MIB, on the other hand, gained 7 points, or 0.03%, to 20,802.
