European stock markets close mixed on Monday

London's FTSE 100 posts largest rise by 0.72% with rally in mining stocks

ANKARA (AA) – European stocks closed mixed on Monday amid a rally in mining shares.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose marginally by 0.24 points, or 0.05%, to close at 457.53.

London's FTSE 100 climbed 51.30 points, or 0.72%, to 7,146.85, while Germany's DAX 30 slipped 6.99 points, or 0.05%, to 15,199.

France's CAC 40 was up 10.55 points, or 0.16%, to end the day at 6,570.54 points. Italy's Borsa Italiana FTSE MIB 30 was down 120.55 points, or 0.46%, to 25,930.46.

Spain's IBEX 35 also fell 56 points, or 0.63%, to close at 8,899.
