European stock markets close mixed on Thursday

ANKARA (AA) - European stocks closed mixed Thursday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 4.6 points, or 1.1%, to finish at 432.77.

Germany's DAX 30 rose 115 points, or 0.88%, to close the day at 13,282.

The inflation rate in Germany is expected to rise 7.5% annually in July, slightly down from an annual gain of 7.6% the previous month, according to the federal statistical office Destatis.

France's CAC 40 increased 81 points, or 1.3%, to end the day at 6,339.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, gaining 451 points, or 2.1%, to 21,932.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, fell less than 3 points, or 0.04%, to close flat at 7,348.

Spain's IBEX 35 was off 39 points, or 0.49%, to finish at 8,084.
