European stock markets close Monday lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down by 2.1 points, or 0.5%, to finish the day at 415.02.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was flat to close at 7,196.

Germany’s DAX 30 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 182 points, or 1.4%, to 12,832.

France’s CAC 40 decreased 36 points, or 0.61%, to 5,996. Italy’s FTSE MIB fell 206 points, or 0.95%, to end the day at 21,567.

Spain’s IBEX 35 declined 35 points, or 0.43%, to 8,065.
