European stock markets close Tuesday higher
UK’s FTSE 100 performs best, soaring 1.29%

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed higher on Tuesday for the second day in a row after gross domestic product (GDP) showed gains in the third quarter.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 2.41 points, or 0.58%, to close the second trading day of the week at 414.61.
The UK’s FTSE 100 was the best performer of the day, soaring 91 points, or 1.29%, to finish the session at 7.186.
Germany’s DAX 30 gained 85 points, or 0.64%, to close at 13,338, while France’s CAC 40 rose 61 points, or 0.98%, to 6,328.
Italy’s FTSE MIB climbed 120 points, or 0.53%, to 22,772. Spain’s IBEX 35 added 42 points, or 0.53%, to 7,999.
GDP rose 0.2% in both the euro area and the EU this July-September compared to the previous quarter, according to a preliminary flash estimate released Monday by Eurostat.
Annual GDP rose 2.1% in the euro area and 2.4% in the EU in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, the statistics office added.
