European stock markets close Wednesday lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 2.07 points, or 0.53%, to end the third trading day of the week at 385.88.

The UK’s FTSE 100 declined 59 points, or 0.86%, to finish the session at 6,826.

Germany's DAX 30 decreased 48 points, or 0.39%, to end the day at 12,172. France’s CAC 40 lost 14 points, or 0.25%, to 5,818.

Italy’s FTSE MIB shed 263 points, or 1.27%, to 20,466.

Spain’s IBEX 35 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 94 points, or 1.3%, to close at 7,261.
